Station Maps: Terminal 1 Terminal 2

  2. Board the Narita Express and take your assigned seat. Narita to tokyo is approx 1 hour. The Narita Express arrives at platform 1-4 on the underground level. Look for the purple platforms on this station map. It is a long walk from the underground platforms to the Bullet train platforms (platform 20-23). Allow 20 minutes or so. Find which platform your train is leaving from, then head for cars #1-4, as these are the non reserved cars, and are at the rear of the trains traveling to Nagano (or the southern end). The trip from Tokyo to Nagano takes between 90 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the number of stops the train makes.

  3. On arrival at Nagano Station, turn left as you exit the ticket wicket. Once you get to the stairs you needs to go down and to the left. Buses for Hakuba leave from Bus stop # 6. Make sure you have enough small change to cover everyone's fare (1500yen), as the buses only take 1000yen notes and 10 - 500yen coins.
If your accommodation is in Goryu, then get off at Kamishiro Station. After Kamishiro, the bus goes to Hakuba Station, but it is generally to get off at the stop after Hakuba Station, which is the Happo Bus Terminal, as you can wait indoors until your pick up arrives.
