All mountain lift tickets can be used at 8 of the resorts in the
Hakuba Valley. Available from 2 to 7 days, they include 1-2 rest
days. i.e. a 5 day ticket is valid over a 7 day period.
Customers are issued a series of vouchers that are presented at
the lift counter office of the resort they wish to ski at that
day. Resorts with IC chip style lift tickets require a 1,000yen
deposit on the chip, which is refundable at the end of the day.
The tickets are only for short term inbound tourists, not for
residences or nations of Japan. The program was mainly set up to
allow overseas agents to package lift tickets into their guests
travel itineraries.

Merits:
- All in one tickets that can be purchased before you arrive.
- Valid at almost all the resorts overseas guests will want to
use
- No language issues at the ticket booth, just give them the
ticket and they will fix you up with a day pass.
Minuses:
- Only one resort per day possible (except 47/Goryu)
- Still need to get a ticket every day from the tickets office
- Not much of a saving on standard day tickets
Verdict:
The easiest to use ticket in Hakuba, and worth the little extra
for the sake of convenience. For those watching their pennies a
saving can be made by purchasing the Alpen resort Tickets and
day tickets at other resorts. |
