HAKUBA IWATAKE
With runs in all directions, Iwatake is
one of those resorts you keep going back to. The gondola "Noah"
runs from the car park area to the summit of the resort, and
from there, there are runs to all points on the compass. Quite a
few beginner - intermediate slopes, with some expert terrain
over the back in the Iwatake View area, and also down the
Kamoshika slopes above the main base area.
On a fine day the views from the top of the gondola as
spectacular, and if you are lucky enough to be up top during a
night time event, it will take your breathe away.
The Sky Arc center at the top of the gondola offers affordable
but sustaining meals, while White Plaza at the base also has
some good deals.
The resort doesn't seem to get too crowded on the weekends, and
the main Japanese clientele seems to be university students.
Senior discounts kick in for those above 50years. |

Frequent shuttles from Echoland, Happo, Wadano, and Hakuba
station. Happo Bus terminal is a hub for Iwatake buses, so if
you can get there, you should be able to easily connect to
Iwatake.
