TSUGAIKE KOGEN

Hakuba's 2nd largest resort and the biggest resort for learners n the valley. One of the longest gondolas in Japan at over 4km in length. (The gondola is named "Eve", and is the third of this biblical naming after Happo's "Adam" and Iwatake's "Noah" gondolas). At the mid station you will find a KFC as well as other dining options.

The lower Kanenonaru slopes offer some of the best learners areas you will find, with wide open gentle slopes, serviced by a number of quad lifts. Higher up is some more challenging terrain, including the Uma-no-se course over the very top of the resort.

One of the easier resorts to get around on account of the high number of high speed detachable lifts that are well linked.

There is some heli skiing available, but compared to the variety offered in other countries, it is not a major attraction.

Another attraction or Tsugaike Kogen is the abundance of slope side accommodation. However the number of bars and restaurants is much lower than in central Hakuba.

Access
There are frequent shuttles from Happo Bus terminal to Tsugaike. Easiest option is to catch a Happo One or Alpen resort Shuttle to Happo Bus terminal from your accommodation and then change there for Tsugaike Kogen.
